The Counting House Nursery operates four private day nurseries across Birstall, Heckmondwike, and Leeds, offering high-quality childcare within a secure, nurturing, and stimulating environment. The day nursery aims to provide a comprehensive insight into daily life at their settings, outlining their values and the care provided, while addressing common questions parents may have when selecting a nursery.
Recognising the importance of finding a setting that caters to a child's individual needs and offers parents peace of mind, The Counting House places children at the core of its operations. Their goal is to ensure every day is a rewarding and happy experience, rich with opportunities for exploration, learning, and growth.
The day nursery's vision is to establish a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all children in their care. Through engaging activities and supportive learning experiences, children are encouraged to develop their knowledge, imagination, and unique personalities.
The nurseries welcome prospective families to visit without an appointment. Antony Lee is the Owner & Director of The Counting House Nurseries.

Inclusion & environment
The setting prides itself on being inclusive, with 'access for all' as a curriculum principle. Staff receive inclusion training and the setting has a certificate of recognition for their inclusive practice. They adapt school readiness documents to be inclusive for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Support for children with SEND is a strength, with holiday sessions for parents, ongoing support from trained staff, and active outreach to services like a national charity for visual impairment support. Children with SEND are well supported and make good progress.
Children have good opportunities to develop their physical skills. They run and jump outside, pretending to be superheroes while wearing capes. They squeeze, stretch and roll dough. Children operate large, scissor-like scoops to pick up sand outside. Children develop good physical abilities.
