The Lawns Children's Nursery in Crewkerne offers a stimulating and supportive environment for children aged 2 to 5 years. The nursery operates Monday to Friday, from 8:00 to 18:00, for 51 weeks of the year.

It boasts an open-plan classroom, an enclosed garden with a large lawn, a hard play surface, and an organic kitchen garden featuring a safe greenhouse, willow dome, sensory garden with a bug hotel, and a bamboo maze. Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff promptly assess children's needs and put relevant support plans in place when needed, initiating professional conversations to secure additional funding. They work closely with parents and other professionals to devise relevant behavioural support plans to provide consistent approaches to managing behaviour. The designated lead for special educational needs coordinator was involved in professional discussions during the inspection.

Outdoor space

Children greatly enjoy the opportunities to be outside and physically active. They engage well in chasing games, carefully negotiating the space and avoiding collisions, and play cooperatively building obstacle courses together. They understand the effect that exercise has on their bodies, commenting that they need to remove their coats as they have become 'too hot'.
