About this day nursery

The Learning Hive Nursery School, part of the Storal family, offers a welcoming and supportive environment where children can embark on their early learning journey. The nursery prioritises making children feel safe, happy, and inspired, considering parents to be an integral part of this process.

They maintain open communication with families, utilising a parent app called Famly for daily updates and sharing important information. Each child is assigned a key person and team who work closely with parents to ensure a smooth transition through different developmental stages, from settling in to preparing for school.

The nursery understands that a successful start involves children becoming familiar with their surroundings, staff, and engaging with peers. They are also sensitive to diverse linguistic backgrounds, encouraging parents to provide lists of words if English isn't a child's first language to aid in their integration and understanding.

What it's like

Children arrive at the nursery happy and separate from their parents with ease. They engage in stimulating learning activities that capture their interests, such as creating patterns with flour or designing on frames. Staff provide clear instructions and boundaries, promoting good behaviour among children.

I absolutely love this nursery and all the staff whom care for my child, they work so hard & every day go above and beyond for my child so he has everything he needs. The staff are so kind, caring and helpful the communication is really fantastic, always receiving pictures about what my son is doing throughout the day. The office team work very hard to get parents involved they have regular stay and play sessions, monthly newsletters and the security at the door is fantastic. All of the staff no matter how busy they are always have the time for you or any queries you might have. My child prior to starting this nursery was not at the same level as his peers quite a long way behind, this was greatly concerning to us. It is thanks to the learning hive & the team whom work with my child that he has progressed in the way he has. I could not have done any of it without them, they have done so much to help me with the whole process from start to finish I am forever indebted to them. Thank you so so much ♥️

My son has been going to rocking horse for over 2 months now and he loves it. The staff are fantastic with him and he is always happy to see them in the mornings which makes it much easier for me to leave him. I love reading his daily notebook and seeing what he has been up to each day. The staff are so friendly and genuinely care about the children and helping them develop and grow. I would highly recommend this nursery

Absolutely brilliant nursery, our son when he started in June had delayed social interaction and speech. He’s come on leaps and bounds and he really enjoys his time at the learning hive. All the staff are great with him, especially Ellie who spends a lot of time one on one with our son. I couldn’t recommend the learning hive enough.

Cannot fault this nursery at all. The staff are amazing. My little boy has been going since he was 11 months and is now 4yrs. He leaves next year. I have been an over protective and worry parent but the staff really eased my worries and helped us both to adjust to nursery life. Over the time the staff have continued to be fully supportive in every way and my little boy loves it there. He has made great friends and good bonds with the staff. The food they serve is brilliant. Would highly recommend 👍

Struggle to fault this nursery. Our daughter has been attending since she was about 9 months. She's now 15 months. Everyone remarks about how much she's changed. She's happy, confident (sometimes TOO confident 🤣) and well looked after. She loves her carers, who all take her a real interest in her and us as parents. Communication is good. We liked the separate rooms here as opposed to the other nurseries we viewed. Would have to highly recommend Carol, Jennie, Clare and the manager Mandi. I already know we'll be sad when she leaves 😪
