Inclusion & environment
The support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is a strength in the setting. Staff work well in partnership with parents and external agencies. They attend training to further their knowledge of ways to support children with SEND. Children with SEND, and other children who receive funding, receive targeted interventions from staff who are specifically trained.
Older children balance on beams as they take part in obstacle courses in the outdoor area. This supports them to develop their gross and small motor skills well.
Our son spent two wonderful years at The Maples Chestnut Nursery, and we have nothing but praise for the nursery. He loved the nurturing environment and the lovely teachers, and he made many friends who are now with him in school. Over those two years, we watched him grow from a baby into a confident little boy, developing his vocabulary, numeracy, and social skills. The teachers did a fantastic job preparing him for reception, and he’s now thriving in his new school. Their care and support also helped him overcome his shyness. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to his early education, and we highly recommend The Maples to any parent.
Read on GoogleBest nursery! My daughter went to The Maples for nearly 2 years, she enjoyed it a lot from the very first day. There are lots of activities, and playground is good. Staff is very welcoming, friendly and professional, especially Fiona. My daughter loved Fiona, she is very kind, patient and caring. My daughter could not wait for the following day to go back and see her. I would highly recommend The Maples nursery is one of the best around Barking.

Read on GoogleMy son attended The Maples for 2.5 years and it was the most incredible nursery for him. The staff were all so kind and intuitive, they picked up on his SEN needs and supported him in so many ways. In the preschool room, his keyworker Fiona was the most incredible person for him. He was so very attached to her and she gave him the nurturing, attention and guidance that he needed. He is now 6 and still talks about Fiona and his time in preschool so it was clear the positive impact his time there has had on him.
Read on GoogleMy daughter now attends the maples after relocating home and moving from another of the chestnut nurseries. The Maples is so much bigger, it's nice and secure, drop off/pick up is quick and smooth. The toddler room team are lovely and settled my daughter in really well. The nursery manager Chanel is so lovely.
