The Sombornes Preschool, established in September 2011, is a charitable organisation dedicated to providing exceptional care and early years education for children aged two years up to statutory school age. Situated in a semi-rural location, the preschool proudly serves families within Kings Somborne, Little Somborne, Up Somborne, and other surrounding villages.

It operates for 38 weeks a year and has the capacity to accommodate a maximum of 30 children. The philosophy revolves around play-based learning within a nurturing and relaxed environment.

The preschool leverages its outdoor fenced space and nearby playing fields for various activities including nature walks, sports, and other outdoor experiences. We offer play-based learning in a relaxed and nurturing environment. Our primary focus is to create a safe and secure environment for children to learn through play both inside and outside. Pricing & funding

Fees are charged at an hourly rate for children who are not eligible for funding. Invoices are issued in advance at the end of each half-term, calculated based on the number of registered weekly sessions. A discretionary fee applies for late collections.

How they support every child

Outdoor space

Staff provide a wide range of experiences which help children to develop well physically. Children show enjoyment in manipulating dough for small-muscle skills and wash large play cars for upper body strength. They practise moving their bodies in different ways using a climbing frame and in physical education lessons.

My daughter really enjoys attending this preschool. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are weekly themes and activities for the children. They do a lot of extra activities for the children which is a lovely touch. There is a secure outdoor area for play and plenty of parking for drop off. A great place to send your children to.
