Opening hours

The Woodside Centre in Tiverton, established in 2004, is a childcare setting providing care for children aged 1 to 4 years. Open Monday to Wednesday, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, all year round, it offers a nurturing and positive environment where children are happy and relaxed.
The curriculum places a strong emphasis on communication and early reading skills, with staff regularly using books and modelling language to expand children's vocabulary. Children engage in stimulating activities, including stories, songs, and role-play, which help them develop their physical skills and make good progress in their learning.
They also learn about healthy lifestyles through activities promoting oral health and nutritious food choices, including home-cooked meals. Outdoor play opportunities are provided, with equipment to help children develop strength and coordination.
The Woodside Centre fosters independence, with older children managing personal needs and displaying excellent table manners. While there is a focus on individual learning plans and working with external agencies, the inspection noted that support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is not consistently applied to help all children make the best possible progress.
Parents have described the care as "great" and the setting as "brilliant," highly recommending it to other parents. Leaders provide good leadership, focusing on improving staff knowledge, though the curriculum could be further strengthened by incorporating more opportunities for children to learn about equality, diversity, and inclusion.
