Tideford Montessori Nursery, registered with Ofsted in 2005, operates from non-domestic premises in Saltash, offering care for children aged 0-4 years. 30pm and Friday from 8am to 5pm, the nursery provides all-year-round provision, following the Montessori ethos of teaching which helps prepare children for their next stage of education.
The nursery was rated 'Good' by Ofsted following its inspection on 20th November 2023. Children show they feel safe and secure, quickly settling with familiar staff who know them well and support their emotional well-being.
The curriculum is designed to be effective in preparing children for their next stage of education, for instance, by supporting them in recognising their names. Staff effectively support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), working closely with both parents and other professionals to ensure progress.
Parents are even invited to participate in hand-sign training to help communication at home. Outdoor learning is a key part of the children's development, with dedicated activities for different age groups; babies develop core strength with resources such as silver pots and pans in the garden, toddlers balance on tractor tyres, and pre-schoolers improve balancing skills on a climbing frame.
The manager has continuously made improvements, including monitoring training and collaborating with staff to enhance their curriculum knowledge.

Inclusion & environment
Staff support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) effectively. Key persons and the special educational needs and disabilities coordinator work closely with other professionals and parents, ensuring children with SEND make progress. Staff invite parents to take part in training on hand signs to aid communication with their children at home.
Babies develop their core strength effectively. Staff support babies who are learning to stand by providing them with resources up high that interest them. For example, babies look up at silver pots and pans in the garden. They stand up to bang them with a spoon. Toddlers balance on a large tractor tyre and push a wheelbarrow around to develop their lower body strength. Pre-school-age children improve their balancing skills as they climb on a climbing frame.
Staff incredibly rude and unprofessional, from the manageress down. Telephone mannors appalling. For a company that prides itself on excellence, and should be setting the example for the next generation, my experience was very disappointing.
