Toad Hall Nursery Watford, established in 1992, provides a welcoming all-year-round setting for children aged 1 to 4 years. The nursery received a "Good" rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 10 May 2023.

Children build warm relationships with staff and feel safe and settled, contributing to their confidence and high self-esteem. The curriculum is designed to support individual progress, with robust monitoring ensuring all children make good strides in their learning, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those learning English as an additional language (EAL).

Staff use clear communication and visual aids, which is particularly beneficial for these children. The nursery offers many opportunities for physical development, from babies learning to pull themselves up to older children developing balance and core strength on climbing apparatus, where they are encouraged to assess risks.

The nursery offers full and half day rates, with discounted daily rates available for children attending full time. Funded hours attract optional hourly charges for meals and consumables.

Outdoor space

Children have many opportunities to develop their physical skills. Babies use furniture to pull themselves up to standing. Older children develop balance and core strength as they climb across ladders balanced on wooden supports, and learn to keep themselves safe as staff encourage them to assess the risks involved.
