About this day nursery

Treetops Hopscotch, established in 2007, is an Outstanding-rated childcare setting in Chester, providing care for children aged 0-4 years all year round, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. The nursery offers a nurturing and stimulating environment where children are secure, happy, and eager to learn, flourishing under the guidance of 21 dedicated childcare staff, including those with advanced early years qualifications.

The curriculum is highly ambitious and tailored to individual needs and interests, ensuring children are deeply engaged and challenged. Staff working with babies are particularly sensitive and nurturing, creating personalised "family boxes" and encouraging parents to record their voices to aid in children's transition and settling.

Communication and language development is a key focus, with swift identification and targeted support effectively closing any learning gaps. The setting proudly celebrates each child's individuality through an inclusive approach; for instance, staff teach sign language keywords and phrases to help children communicate and build relationships, explaining how some children cannot communicate with spoken words.

This fosters a strong sense of belonging and exceptional self-esteem. Outdoor learning is a significant part of the experience, with toddlers enjoying scavenger hunts in the garden, searching for insects with magnifying glasses, and children as a whole are taught to conduct their own risk assessments of the garden area.

Furthermore, children at Treetops Hopscotch have marvellous opportunities to understand their place in society, engaging with local residential homes, and participating in initiatives like clothes swapping and fundraising to support those less fortunate.
