About this early years setting
Victoria House Day Nursery and Pre-School in Marlow offers a warm, family-like environment for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Located on Victoria Road, close to The Doctor’s House Surgery and easily accessible from the A404 and town centre, the nursery provides spacious, bright rooms and an outstanding outdoor area.
The outdoor facilities include a pirate ship, treetop walkway, balancing beams, a dedicated preschool garden, vegetable patch, and mud kitchen, all designed to encourage imaginative and real-world play. The nursery focuses on individual care and learning, with all activities aligned with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) principles and delivered by highly trained staff.
Emphasis is placed on building strong partnerships with parents. Older children are encouraged to develop independence and curiosity by learning about personal care and safety.
The nursery was converted from a British Red Cross Community Hall and opened in 2011 by Lady Ann Redgrave.
Our ethos
Victoria House Day Nursery and Pre-School aligns all activities with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) principles. They focus on individual care and learning, encourage independence and curiosity in older children, and emphasise building strong partnerships with parents. The nursery also provides a rich environment for imaginative and real-world play, particularly through its outdoor facilities.

Since the last inspection, leaders and managers have made significant improvements to ensure the safety of children in this setting. Children show that they feel safe and secure and seek comfort and support from staff when required. Staff have high expectations for children's learning and development and children behave well.

- The dedicated leaders and managers have successfully evaluated the setting and the needs of children and staff, and have worked hard to achieve a good standard.

How they support every child
SEND provision
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported well. Staff work with other agencies to assess, plan and provide activities to meet children's individual needs. The environment is well thought out to ensure it is inclusive and meets the needs of children.
Outdoor space
Toddlers show delight as they jump and splash in muddy puddles in the garden. Older children enthusiastically join in with a game of 'What's the time Mr Wolf'.
EAL / language support
Children with English as an additional language are supported well by staff. They work closely with parents and learn words in the children's home language to help support communication and understanding.

The nursery is in a lovely setting and our daughter loved exploring and playing in the garden. The staff were really friendly and kind and our daughter built really good relationships with many of the staff there. She made some really good friends and we look back fondly at our time there.
