Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are supported well. Staff use observations and assessments to identify learning gaps, implement support plans, and share these plans with parents to continue support at home.
Children are excited to explore outdoors. They develop confidence in their physical abilities as they jump, climb and bounce on soft play equipment. Babies develop fine hand-eye coordination as they grasp toys and splash fish in the water tray.
Our first child had a year at Wellington's before going to school. He's built great friendship with a group of kids very soon. He's warmly welcomed by the kids, teachers, and parents. He could have strong feelings sometimes but the teachers managed to bond with him, earn his trust, and actively support him. After we had our second child, Wellingtons was the only choice in our mind. Nursery kindly offered mini sessions for 2 months to get him warmed up and supported a gradual incremental time increase for another a few months before the formal start. They are very understanding of the concerns and struggles that the parents of a very young baby could have. They kindly accommodated our ask even though it meant lots of admin efforts. Our little one has been bonded closely with his key person and showing up big smiles whenever she's around. This is the place that not only our children but the whole family feel belonging to.
Read on GoogleBoth of my children have gone to Wellingtons. Wellingtons is an amazing nursery, we couldn’t recommend it more to parents in the local area. The staff are incredible, the Murray facilities are amazing, and importantly they develop happy, well rounded children. My daughter spent 3.5 years at Wellingtons before going to school and came home happy every day, wanted all the staff to come to her birthday parties, and left as a well rounded child fully ready for the challenges school brings. My son still attends Wellingtons, and skips through the door each morning as he loves being there so much. It’s a bit off the beaten track and benefits from having a large outside play area because of this, as well as a quiet front door area to drop the children off safely. If you are looking for a nursery in Balham, look no further! In our view Wellingtons is the best by a country mile
