Wentwood House Day Nursery, located in Fleet, provides care for up to 45 children daily in a setting that was formerly a chiropractor's surgery. Opened in 2014, it caters to parents who prefer a smaller, more intimate nursery environment.

The nursery features a dedicated sleep room, a sensory suite, and separate floors for children under two years old and over two years old. It boasts a substantial car park and a well-maintained garden, alongside a unique Forest Area designed for outdoor exploration and learning through activities like den building, nature investigation, and mud kitchen play, utilising bespoke wooden equipment made from locally sourced oak.

The nursery places a strong emphasis on outdoor physical activity, aiming to provide children with 180 minutes of daily physical activity. It operates as a family-run business, focusing on recruiting passionate and experienced individuals to create a welcoming atmosphere.

The team comprises staff with varied qualifications and experiences, many holding First Aid, safeguarding, and Food Hygiene certificates, all of whom are police vetted. The nursery encourages internal promotion and professional development, ensuring continuity for staff, parents, and children.

Meals are homemade with fresh ingredients, prepared at a sister setting's 5-star Environmental Health rated kitchen, offering breakfast, snacks, lunch, and tea with menu changes seasonally and for international days. They cater to diverse dietary needs and are highly rated for hygiene.

Wentwood House aims to offer a 'home from home' where children can develop in a stimulating, safe environment, working in partnership with parents and promoting equality and diversity.

What it's like

Children confidently leave their parents at the door and quickly settle into their age-group rooms, engaging in play. Staff know the children well, building strong bonds and providing appropriate activities and resources to match their interests and needs. Children learn to be independent through effective teaching and develop at their own pace, making good progress.
