Westfield Preschool, established in 2015, offers a nurturing, stimulating and happy environment for children aged 2 to 4 years old. 30pm.
The setting received a 'Good' rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on July 8, 2024. Children enthusiastically engage with a curriculum designed to foster their understanding of the world and develop essential life skills, including outings to local shops to learn about money.
Staff are attentive and trained to support individual needs, with recent training focused on helping new children transition smoothly into the setting and identifying ways to meet their specific requirements. This ensures that every child, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), receives tailored support.
The preschool offers rich indoor and outdoor learning experiences; children particularly enjoy exploring the pre-school garden, where they can engage in physical activity and discover nature, such as searching for bugs under logs. Staff actively participate in children's play, introducing new words and encouraging critical thinking.
Strong partnerships with parents are a cornerstone of Westfield Preschool, with regular communication via online platforms and meetings to discuss children's progress and next steps. Children are encouraged to become independent learners, for instance, by putting on aprons for painting or serving themselves snacks, fostering confidence and self-care skills.

Inclusion & environment
Recent training has been closely matched to the needs of the children who attend the nursery. This supports staff to continually build on their strong teaching skills and promote the development for individual children's needs. For example, staff recently attended training on how to help new children transition into their setting and identify ways to meet their needs.
Children embrace the opportunities for learning that staff provide, indoors and outdoors. They are keen to explore the pre-school garden, enjoying fresh air and physical activity as they do so. Children spend long periods of time searching for bugs, safely navigating their way around the garden.
This preschool is run by a lovely lady called Ruth who definitely does this for the love of children rather than it just being another childcare business. My son loves going and is always bringing home wonderful arts and crafts type things they help the children to make. His vocabulary has increased since going and its been a great environment for his development and social interaction. He always comes home happy with some great stories to tell and songs to sing. He's even picking up writing at just 3 years old. We highly recommend this preschool
