How they support every child

Outdoor space

Staff plan and implement their curriculum in the outdoor environment. They are particularly good at teaching children to take manageable and age-appropriate risks, such as using real tools like a bow saw to cut wood. Staff also engage children in imaginary play at the mud kitchen, where children mix natural resources to make their own concoctions.

EAL / language support

All children, including those who speak English as an additional language, make rapid progress from their starting points. For example, children who had limited vocabulary are now confident speakers.

Our 4-year-old attended the Wild About Play summer camp this year, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The staff are incredibly warm, nurturing, and clearly passionate about what they do. From the very first day, we felt confident that our child was in safe and loving hands. The camp offers abundant opportunities for outdoor play and learning, which was exactly what we were looking for. Each day was filled with exploration, creativity, and connection with nature—something that’s so rare and valuable these days. Our child came home happy, tired (in the best way!), and full of stories about all the fun adventures. We wholeheartedly recommend this camp to any parents looking for a nature-based, child-centered experience. It’s truly a gem!

Wild About Play is a wonderful place. My son attended nursery here for three full years, and also for many of the camps during the holidays. I feel so lucky that we discovered WAP and for my son to have had the opportunity to learn, have fun, and enjoy the outdoors here. The staff are simply brilliant; nurturing, energetic, caring, fun, attentive, thoughtful, imaginative, the list goes on.

After looking around many nurseries, this setting felt completely different from the very first moment. My family and I would often see them walking out in Nature and it was evident how happy both the children and staff were. After waiting until our son was three to start, we were unsure the settling in process would go, he was at ease from the first day and absolutely loved every moment of it. He has learned so much since starting, returning home from his days here happy, inspired and excited to go back. The teachers and management team are truly incredible, so nurturing, wise, engaged and committed to providing the best education and values. The children who attend are a reflection of the provision; connected, driven, creative and full of joy. We cannot reccommend Wild about Play highly enough.

Our 3-year-old son had an amazing time at WAP. Even the rain made him happy! He loved exploring the forest, looking at snails, and learning about nature with the help of the kind staff. This adventure made him more confident and taught him to love and respect the outdoors. We're really glad he had this experience. For other parents thinking about a holiday camp for their kids, we highly recommend this one. It's a great place for little explorers to learn and have fun.
