Woodland Wanderers is a Montessori-inspired nursery that strongly emphasises outdoor learning and sustainable practices. The curriculum encourages children to explore their innate curiosity through a child-led approach, with certified Montessori teachers guiding their development at their own pace.
Weekly forest school adventures are a core part of the experience, allowing children to engage with nature in all weather conditions, fostering a lifelong appreciation for the environment. The nursery integrates the UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals into its daily activities, teaching children valuable lessons about conservation and ecological responsibility from an early age.
Beyond its focus on nature, Woodland Wanderers promotes a sense of community by exposing children to diverse cultures and languages, including Spanish and Mandarin, to broaden their understanding of the world. The nursery aims to be a nurturing, resourceful, and bountiful environment for young learners, inspired by the Baobab tree, and is committed to a minimal-waste ethos.
They also offer organic meals and bespoke equipment to further enhance the children's experience.
Our ethos
We nurture each child's curiosity with the Montessori approach and certified teachers. Learning becomes an adventure tailored to their pace and style. Our environments empower children to explore independently, make confident choices, and develop essential life skills. We believe in the power of languages like Spanish and Mandarin to unlock cultural richness and understanding. Our programmes foster community and collaboration, allowing children to connect deeply with diverse cultures. Together, we’re inspiring the next generation to explore and engage with the world around them. We inspire children to explore their natural curiosity and love for the outdoors with weekly forest school adventures. Our engaging, seasonally-themed curriculum helps them discover the wonders of nature, igniting a lifelong appreciation for the world around them. Our philosophy is ‘there’s no such thing as bad weather, just unsuitable clothes’, meaning our children get to explore the outdoors, whatever the weather, and experience the changing of the seasons before their very eyes. We believe in nurturing both young minds and our planet. By examining and reducing our ecological footprint, we help establish sustainable habits from the earliest years. Guided by the UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals, we embed eco-based principles into daily practice—teaching children to conserve energy, water, and materials while experiencing the natural cycles of the world around them, fostering responsibility, awareness, and care for future generations. Community is at the heart of who we are. Through diverse and rich real-life experiences, we support children in exploring and celebrating different cultures and languages.
