Abbeydale Cottage Nursery provides early years childcare in Dore & Totley, Sheffield, focusing on a holistic approach to child development. The nursery offers a balanced programme of planned and free play activities, encouraging children to become confident, independent, and joyful learners.

A significant portion of their learning takes place outdoors in all weather, allowing children to engage with natural elements, develop physically and mentally, and learn to assess and take appropriate risks. The curriculum integrates phonics, maths, and science in small, focused groups to prepare children for school.

The nursery prides itself on its experienced Curriculum Lead and dedicated safeguarding team, including a Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy. Special educational needs are supported by a SENCO who works closely with staff and families, facilitating external advice when necessary.

Parental involvement is highly valued, with various opportunities for families to engage with the nursery community, including seasonal craft mornings, park meet-ups, and visits to a local nursing home. Abbeydale Cottage Nursery has proudly held the Healthy Early Years Award for three consecutive years, demonstrating a commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles through dynamic activities and shared information on nutrition, exercise, sleep hygiene, and overall well-being.
