Inclusion & environment
The support available for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities is strong; leaders work in close partnership with parents and with external agencies to secure targeted support to help children reach their potential.
Leaders promote learning in the outdoors and children spend a huge amount of time in the exceptional outdoor learning space, using wheeled toys confidently to develop large-muscle strength, direction and speed. They delight in tyre swings and adventurous play, with staff offering appropriate encouragement to challenge children physically.
Sending my child to Acorn day nursery at Brafield-on-Green was the best decision we made for him. I was nervous about our son starting nursery at a young age, especially being a first time mum however, thanks to the genuine love and compassion shown by staff, he settled in quickly. I cannot thank them enough for everything they do. They are very attentive to both the unique needs of my son and of us as parents. We have seen him grow and develop into wonderful young boy. His social interaction, speech and self confidence has come along way since starting nursery. It is such a joy to be able to drop him off knowing he absolutely loves spending every minute he is there with the comfort of knowing he is in safe hands. Our second son will soon be starting at Acorn and I’m looking forward to seeing him develop and thrive just as his brother does. The nursery have a wonderful big outdoor space which they make full use of in all weather which I think is brilliant
Read on GoogleAmazing nursery in a beautiful village location. The outdoor area is lovely and spacious with a large grass section facing a field which often has farm animals grazing, such as sheep, which the children love to be able to see. Plenty of play apparatus, a chicken hut, sand pit, and natural interactive areas/objects. My little boy started at 12 months and he loves going! The staff are brilliant and have helped him settle in so well. Everyone is very nice, professional, caring and warm. They understand each individual child’s personality and needs and connect with them. I feel that they’ve got to know my son so well and I like that each parent is given as much time as needed on pick up to be given feedback, and it’s detailed. My son feels happy, safe and comfortable being left, he happily goes off to play or has a cuddle with one of the staff. He’s definitely made strong relationships with staff and other children. The Famly app they use is great to keep track of everything and see your child’s development. I like the way there is a focus on the child’s personal interests and motivation to develop each individual. There’s a wide range of natural resources and educational toys. A lot of time is spent exploring and playing outside which I think is important. The Chef cooks the food fresh from scratch and the children are often involved. Overall a wonderful nursery with wonderful staff, I’m very happy with my choice and couldn’t ask for more for my little boy!
Read on GoogleA fantastic nursery with caring and knowledgeable staff who have done a fantastic job of settling our son and making him comfortable with his carers and surroundings. The nursery is small, and as a result offers a more personal experience than some of the larger nurseries. The nursery is in a lovely setting with plenty of opportunity to enjoy time outside in the well equipped, secure grounds. A great nursery, with great staff - highly recommended.
Read on GoogleThis is a terrible nursery 1- many kids in a small hot room 2- they don’t give enough food to kids 3- not so many stuffs to all children they have 4- no respect so ever to the employers/parents 5- they Clean our children with PAPER TOWELS, your read well, with the premise of an environmental company they use Paper towels to clean our kids. A shame.
