Cofton Primary School, situated in a semi-rural setting on the outskirts of Birmingham, strives to offer a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can excel socially, emotionally, and academically. The school places a strong emphasis on fostering a happy and successful learning journey for each child, underpinned by four key values: kindness and respect, striving for one's best, taking responsibility, and pride in the school community.
A close partnership between home and school is considered vital for pupils' progress, with parents and carers encouraged to engage with the school regarding their child's education. The school's extensive grounds facilitate outdoor learning, and it operates as a Forest School, alongside working towards Eco-School status and a silver Rights Respecting School Award.
Cofton Primary welcomes children from various pre-school and nursery settings, ensuring a well-planned induction process to help children feel secure. The school also offers before and after-school care through its Alphabets club, run in collaboration with Longbridge Child Care Strategy, providing care from 7:30 am until school starts and after school until 6:00 pm, including holiday clubs.
Additionally, there is an on-site breakfast club from 7:45 am, staffed by existing Cofton personnel, and after-school clubs run by Cofton staff until 5:15 pm.
Our ethos
We aim to create a school that is 'happy and successful', within which your child can flourish and develop to their full potential - socially, emotionally and academically. We have four simple values at Cofton - in order to be 'happy and successful', we must always: be kind and respectful; do our best; take responsibility; be proud of Cofton. Close links and a strong partnership between home and school are essential, in order to ensure that pupils make the best possible progress, whilst they are here at Cofton.

Inclusion & environment
This is because some staff plan activities based solely on children's interests, rather than on children's learning needs and/or next steps. This does not support all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), to make good enough progress in their development. Staff generally meet the needs of children with SEND well. They make timely referrals and create individual plans with targets and strategies. This helps to ensure children receive the specialist help they require from other professionals.
Staff use the outside area well to help promote children's physical skills. Children ride bikes and climb large apparatus in the garden, helping them practise balance and coordination.
