About this day nursery

Bristol Forest School, established in 2004, provides a unique outdoor learning experience for children aged 0-12 years within its private woodland, distinct from the Leigh Woods public area. The school focuses on fostering independence and confidence through a variety of imaginative, stimulating, and nature-inspired activities.

Their sustainably managed woodland site features well-organised activity areas that encourage play, curiosity, and adventure. Beyond regular forest school sessions, Bristol Forest School offers a range of specialised programmes including parties for 3-11 year olds, school group visits, holiday clubs, and staff training for educators.

They also collaborate with Mini Foresters for pre-school sessions (0-6 years) and Home Ed-Venturers for home-schooled children (5-14 years). The philosophy centres on practical outdoor skills, exploration, and developing social and communication abilities in a secure, natural environment.

While email is preferred due to their time spent in the woods, the dedicated team ensures a safe and engaging experience, even in inclement weather, with protocols for heavy rain and high winds.

Charlie is absolutely amazing with the children. She teaches them new skills and is lots of fun. My son loved Forrest school today. Great for him to be outside in the fresh air learning new skills. Will definitely be sending him again. A +++++++++

Charlie and the team are brilliant!! Our little girl has gone to forest school the last few seasons and loves it. She feels safe and happy - confident to do new things! She gets to mix with kids older than she and learn new skills! The team are so creative and patient. We just can’t wait till the sessions are longer!!
