About this day nursery

Banana Moon Day Nursery is located in the Davyhulme area of Manchester and provides care for children from birth to five years old. The day nursery is open from 7.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday, throughout the year, with the exception of bank holidays and one week at Christmas. Ofsted inspected the setting in May 2025 and gave it an overall rating of 'Good'. The inspector found that children are happy and eager to start their day and that staff are caring and nurturing.

The nursery is a purpose-built facility with an in-house kitchen where staff prepare nutritious meals and snacks, catering for individual dietary needs. Outside, older children play on scooters, bicycles, and a low-level slide. They also help to care for the apple trees they planted in the garden. To support children with additional needs, staff implement interventions such as using picture cards to help with communication, based on advice from outside professionals. The inspector noted that leaders create an inclusive environment and that staff share information with parents about children's development.

We’re a small nursery and ensure we provide great quality of care for the children. We have our parent app where we can communicate throughly to the parents. We post all our fun activities linking to our curriculum and we set up a great enriching environment appropriate for all ages to ensure development needs are being met. Our chef cooks fresh meals every single day which gives the children an opportunity to try different foods.
