Been a long time since visiting and decided to return to the barbering school after my friend died who ran his own barbering school. It's all new and very well kitted out. The students' behaviour is still very school like but ok and typical for the current generation (ex- part time teacher here!) Will return again as the barbering school is good and seems to be run well.

Despite all the evidence I gave them my SEN needs weren’t supported, they do nothing about bullying. Staff themselves are really unhelpful and bullies, was discriminated and bullied and also threatened by the assistant principal when I was alone in a meeting. They have CCTV in the cubicles that peek right over 2 female cubicals ( including a disabled one ) Tutors don’t know what they’re doing either, wasted a whole year here 😬 Reported to OFSTED multiple times but they get a staff member to follow them and listen to everything you say so they can report it back to the assistant principal, bravo is never there and if he is he always is only on the look out for badges or vapers…. Not to mention he sped up dangerously while my sister and I was crossing the road because she was vaping infront of the college heading to the office…. Awful and needs to be throughly inspected by the inspectors as many people have complained about one specific staff member and she knows who she is, I don’t feel comfortable there and traumatised by these actions. Needs to be dealt with as they’re not SEN friendly at ALL.

This college is an absolute joke! Spent a lot of money on level 1 and 2 plumbing and then when I finished I went to find an apprenticeship. I found an apprenticeship and I was doing things that I was never shown in college so I was making mistakes. Several things I had absolutely no clue what to do as again wasn't shown in college and my boss made a comment to another worker saying that he thinks I am lying about going to college! Thankfully I was shown what to do and learned quickly but I was advised that I should go back to college because whoever was my teacher was apparently an absolute fool because almost everything that I was teached and shown was wrong !!

BCOT has some great tutors and facilities but the management are ruthless, they accept a lot of SEND pupils for the additional funding and don't deliver. The college accepted my son's EHCP which was comprehensive and by no means misleading, when he was badly assaulted on college premises they excluded him, none of the management cared and they blamed him and told him to contact the police. The Principal leaves his deputy principals to run the college and they are accountable to absolutely no one. Despite making complaints regarding the college not delivering the EHCP provision and about the exclusion process, they did not address the complaint. Even when I went to the board of governors my complaint was ignored. For SEND pupils, BCOT should be avoided, the SEND department deliver nothing and in my son's case they said personal development sessions, that are delivered to ALL pupils were his additional support. BCOT has some great tutors but sadly it is is self regulating and mismanaged by a corrupt senior management team.
