About this day nursery

Beechwood Farm Day Nursery, situated in the picturesque Cheshire countryside in Cuddington, offers a unique educational experience for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Established in 2007 and family-owned, the nursery is set on a genuine working farm, allowing children to engage directly with animals and abundant wildlife.

This distinctive environment fosters a deeper connection with nature and provides hands-on learning opportunities from an early age. The nursery is committed to delivering a nurturing 'home away from home' atmosphere, where children can flourish into confident, independent, and resilient individuals.

With a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, the curriculum integrates farm-based activities such as feeding animals, collecting hay, and taking part in lambing season. Highly trained staff, including an early years teacher, guide children through the EYFS curriculum, utilising digital learning journals to maintain a close partnership with parents.

The facilities include four dedicated age-group rooms, a library, a cosy lounge, and extensive outdoor spaces for daily exploration, all designed to support the holistic development of each child.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is securely embedded. The special needs and disability coordinator is knowledgeable and swift with her interventions. Additional funding is used effectively to help support those children it is allocated to, such as increasing ratios for one-to-one support, which helps to narrow the gaps in learning and support all children, including those with SEND, to make good progress.

Outdoor space

Children have lots of opportunities to enjoy the outdoor area. Babies go on farmyard walks and have a picnic in the grounds. Staff teach toddler children how to use the swing independently by building up strength and momentum in their leg movements.
