About this day nursery

Growing Minds Montessori Childcare - Tarporley is a childcare setting for children aged 0 to 4 years, operating from Monday to Friday, 7am until 7pm, all year round. It was established in 2023.

The nursery provides a small, homely environment where children eagerly explore and confidently show off photographs of their family pets. The provider has successfully addressed safeguarding concerns raised in a previous inspection.

Leaders have implemented some areas of the curriculum effectively, such as promoting independence; children are encouraged to put on their own shoes and coats, pour their own drinks, and even cut up their own food. This approach helps children develop confidence in their abilities.

While an ambitious curriculum has been designed, recent staffing changes have meant that the vision for children's learning is not yet fully embedded, leading to inconsistencies in curriculum delivery and staff practice. Leaders are supporting staff, but their checks on staff's work with children are in their early stages, impacting children's progress.

Outside, children are provided with daily fresh air and physical play. Staff engage alongside children, encouraging imagination during activities like climbing the slide.

The inspector noted children giggling as they 'go on an adventure to the zoo', pretending to start an engine and waddling like a penguin. The nursery provides access to a wide range of books to enhance learning, with some staff reading aloud in an engaging way.

Staff also skilfully identify and provide spontaneous learning opportunities, such as counting balls posted down pipes and applying these counting skills to set placemats at lunchtime.

A great preschool in Delamere. It’s situated right next to Delamere Primary school so it’s ideal if you have a child there! The facilities are great with most things new. They also have convenient opening hours and provide a varied and nutritious menu for the children.
