Berry Hill Under Fives Group is a charitable organisation situated within the grounds of Five Acres High School in Coleford. The nursery fosters a secure and stimulating educational setting where children are encouraged to explore, engage their creativity, and enjoy their learning journey.

Their facilities include a spacious indoor playroom featuring various activity zones such as a book corner, a construction area, and a creative space, alongside provision for free play. There is also a refreshment area, accessible toilets with changing facilities, an office, and a sizable kitchen.

Outdoors, the nursery offers a large all-weather grassed area equipped with a wooden play frame, substantial outdoor equipment, and resources like a mud kitchen, designed to engage children's senses. The nursery adheres to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework and Birth to Five Matters curriculum, ensuring that learning occurs through play, parents are closely involved and kept informed of their child's progress, and the welfare, learning, and holistic development of all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, are supported.

What it's like

Children arrive happy and separate from their parents and/or carers with ease. They manage small tasks for themselves as they hang their belongings on a coat peg and put their lunchbox away in the refreshment area. Children know the routines of the day and excitedly enter the play room to greet their friends and staff. Children make independent choices about their play.
