Big Kids Little Kids Nursery and out of School Club is located near Darlington town centre and provides care for children from birth to twelve years old. The setting is open Monday to Friday from 7.45am to 6pm all year round and was first registered in 2004. A holiday club is also available for children aged four to twelve. The nursery accepts government funding, and parents using funded sessions may be asked for a voluntary consumables fee for meals and snacks.

In January 2022, Ofsted rated the nursery as Good. The inspector found that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive strong one-to-one support and that staff have high expectations for all children. The report noted that children enjoy stories and have opportunities to visit local shops and parks. Parents told the inspector that they are happy with the care provided and that staff share information about their children's progress.

Staff greet children and parents warmly, helping children feel safe and secure. They gather information on children's needs, forming strong bonds that positively impact well-being. Children with SEND receive strong support, and staff have high expectations for all.

Pricing & funding

The nursery offers 15 and 30 hours of funded childcare, available either term-time or stretched over the whole year. Additional hours can be added hourly or daily. Charges apply for meals, daily consumables, and voluntary services like trips and extracurricular activities.
