Brambly House Montessori School, established in 2000, offers a preschool education rooted in the Montessori philosophy. The curriculum focuses on developing children's natural independence through practical life activities, such as polishing and pouring, which also enhance fine motor skills.
Sensorial learning is emphasized with natural materials to teach concepts of shape, space, measure, sound, texture, and colour. The school prepares children for early mathematics by building on their understanding of patterns and quantities.
Cultural awareness is fostered through a colour system that introduces continents and encourages an understanding of diverse cultures, alongside respect for the environment and living things. Language development progresses from letter recognition to phonetic word building using specialized Montessori materials.
Creativity is nurtured daily through various expressive forms like drawing, music, movement, and imaginative play, providing a rich environment for social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.

Inclusion & environment
Children with special education needs and/or disabilities (SEND) have their own purposefully designed classroom. Staff organise the environment to support the needs of the children and have a variety of specialist equipment to promote individual children's development. Leaders work closely with the local authority and review individual plans alongside advice from other agencies to ensure children with SEND get the support and help they need and have access to learning at their own level. Staff focus on extending children's attention and provide an abundance of sensory experiences, helping children to self-regulate.
Children have the choice of playing in their own classroom that extends outside, or they can take part in forest school sessions in the purpose-built outdoor classroom. Children take part in a range of rich learning experiences in the outdoor classroom, such as making bird feeders and clay birds. The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors.
