Bright Horizons operates over 300 nurseries and preschools across the UK, offering comprehensive childcare services. Their core philosophy, the "Nurture Approach," prioritises the holistic development of each child, integrating learning with emotional well-being to foster happy and healthy growth.
The curriculum, "Bright Beginnings," focuses on five key learning areas, incorporating practical and life skills through engaging activities, including extensive outdoor adventures and Forest School programmes. They offer support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and place a strong emphasis on healthy mealtimes, providing freshly prepared food with careful allergy management.
The nursery group is dedicated to supporting families through the complexities of childcare, offering guidance on various funding options and providing non-chargeable settling-in sessions to ensure a smooth transition for children and parents. These sessions, available up to six weeks before a child's start date, are designed to build trust between the child, parents, and their dedicated Key Person, making the nursery experience as comfortable and positive as possible.

Inclusion & environment
Staff form good partnerships with other professionals who are involved in children's care and learning. They follow their advice and set targets to meet the learning and development needs of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, ensuring children are fully included in all experiences and their specific needs are met well.
Children enjoy being active. Staff fully encourage all children to develop their physical skills indoors and outside. They recognise that some children have limited opportunities for outdoor play at home and make the most of using outdoor spaces to enable these children to explore and develop confidence, strength and coordination.
My daughter started attending this nursery at 10 months old, and took well to the staff and other children immediately. This gave me so much peace of mind as I returned to work. A lovely nursery, a with great activities for learning and development.
Read on GoogleI visited 12 nurseries in the area, before choosing this one for my son when he was around 18 months. It was the nursery where I felt the staff were most bonded with the children and devoted to their all-round wellbeing. The staff genuinely care about every achievement of each child. My son is now 4 and preparing to go to primary school, and the nursery has set him up excellently to move on - they have helped his confidence, interest in learning and social skills with his peers. This is, in my opinion, the best nursery in the area.
