About this day nursery

Bright Horizons is a well-established organisation with over three decades of experience, operating more than 300 nurseries and preschools across the UK. Their core mission revolves around supporting families in balancing work and life commitments.

The nurseries are dedicated to providing children with engaging and stimulating learning opportunities, fostering an environment where the simple joys of childhood can flourish. A cornerstone of their approach is "The Nurture Approach™", which seamlessly integrates learning with emotional well-being, recognising them as interconnected elements of a child's developmental journey.

They prioritise the safety and happiness of children, with a team of skilled and caring nursery practitioners who provide unwavering support. The organisation also emphasises the importance of a smooth transition into nursery life, offering complimentary settling-in sessions for new children and their families.

These sessions, available up to six weeks before the official start date, allow children to gradually acclimate to their new surroundings and form secure attachments with their key person, ensuring a comfortable and confident beginning to their nursery experience.

Our ethos

Bright Horizons is committed to fostering children's learning and emotional well-being through "The Nurture Approach™", integrating these as interconnected elements of development to ensure children's safety, happiness, and a secure transition into nursery life through complimentary settling-in sessions.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff and leaders have high expectations for every child and work hard to meet the individual needs of children. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported very well through partnership work with parents and others involved in children's care and learning. Leaders work hard to ensure that children receive any support necessary from external professionals or internally within the nursery.

Outdoor space

Staff think carefully about how to support children in developing their physical development. Babies crawl, climb up steps and slide down the slide. Toddlers and pre-schoolers ride bikes, balance on the beam, learn to throw and kick balls and make food in the mud kitchen.

This is the end of a long journey with bright horizons, 2nd child about to start school. We've had a fantastic experience, my son has gained so much confidence and many skills during his time and the staff genuinely care about the children and their development, he loves all the staff and refers to them as nursery family! meals are always tasty and healthy, and the nursery is managed very well! I could not have asked for more! We'll be very sad to leave and will be staying in touch.

Fantastic leadership and in-room team! This team amazes us every day how much time and effort they go to with helping the children learn. We know from experience of our older child being at the nursery and going off to school what a fantastic learning foundation the children get from the team and our eldest has thrived at school as a result. We appreciate how much the team do and we can see how much love there is between the team and the children.

We were recommended BH mount vernon nursery by old neighbours who sent their children. As soon as we went visited the nursery we knew it was for us and our son would thrive. We have had exceptional care and a fantastic experience in Hedgehogs. And now our son is in Owls, he’s thriving. Thanks to all the staff who make my son’s experience such a positive one.

My daughter has been attending Mount Vernon nursery for almost a year now. She absolutely loves it. They organise so many varied activities for the children every day, using all of their senses, she comes home with craft/artwork she is very proud to show us! The staff in my daughter's room could not be more caring and approachable, they also feedback thoroughly covering every aspect of her care and enjoyment. The management team are also very helpful and accommodating. We couldn't be happier leaving our little one in such a safe and sociable environment.

My son attends Bright Horizons at Mount Vernon and has been for the last 3 months. It is always daunting sending your child to nursery but it was more so for me as his previous nursery had let us down and given me a number of reservations. I am so glad that I decided to send him to this nursery. The staff are so friendly and supportive, they have created such a loving and safe environment that each of the children seem to excel in their care. The management team have all been there for a number of years which really helps create a family feel to the nursery and brings a lot of knowledge on how to keep improving. The facilities are great with lots of different activities for the children to be involved with, the garden is well equipped and secure. The menu is always varied and nutritious and caters to all dietary requirements. Not only are we kept abreast of our son's development from verbal feedback but we are also sent weekly updates on what they have been learning and a monthly view of what is coming and all the different aspects that we can be involved with. I really cannot recommend Bright Horizons at Mount Vernon enough.
