About this early years setting

Bright Horizons offers nurturing childcare across its extensive network of over 300 nurseries and preschools in the UK. With a strong emphasis on the well-being and development of each child, the nurseries implement The Nurture Approach™, integrating learning with emotional support to foster healthy, happy, and confident children.

The curriculum, named Bright Beginnings, focuses on five key learning areas, incorporating practical and life skills through engaging activities. Mealtimes are a priority, with fresh food, carefully managed allergies, and thoughtful menus.

The nursery group also champions outdoor adventures through spaces, Forest School, and an Eco-Schools programme, recognising the benefits of nature in child development. They provide comprehensive support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and offer a structured 'Our Nursery Day' to guide children through various developmental stages.

To ease the transition into nursery life, Bright Horizons provides complimentary settling-in sessions, which can commence up to six weeks prior to the official start date, allowing children and families to acclimate to the new environment and build trust with their key person. This personalised approach ensures that individual needs are met, making the journey into nursery as smooth and supportive as possible.

I have used this Nursery for 4 years for my 2 sons and have much praise for their care, love and development of my children. The staff across all the rooms here are very supportive, friendly and welcoming, acting much like an extended family to me. My boys have both thrived here, the educational activities they run inside and outside are truly inspiring - science experiments/ cooking classes/ show and tells/ sports days I would thoroughly recommend.

Amazing place ! From the first viewing I had this warm feeling about this nursery and opposite to any others nearby I had confidence to leave my then young child with the staff of this nursery. This was back in 2018. Throughout the years that my child continued his journey in this same nursery I was pleased to know I could also come and speak to the manager of this site or with the teachers about my child's development plan, improvements or even mother's concerns. Communication was always 💯 there and anytime I wished I could call up and find out how is my child doing. Always followed dietary instructions and respected my parenting decisions. This nursery was the best choice and now that my son nearly finished his journey here can 200% recommend this to any parent. Thank you to all staff members for taking care of my child through passed years.

I was deeply disturbed by the treatment of children at this nursery. I witnessed staff members shouting directly in children’s faces, forcibly placing them into chairs when angry, and showing clear favoritism. Children who were not favored were subjected to this mistreatment regularly, which was heartbreaking to see. This was especially shocking given that it’s a private nursery, where higher standards should be expected. Unfortunately, the nursery manager appeared indifferent to these issues, creating a culture where such behavior was overlooked. Parents should be aware of the environment their children are in, and I strongly urge management to take immediate action to address these practices and ensure proper care and respect for all children.
