About this day nursery

Bright Horizons is a well-established childcare provider in the UK, operating over 300 nurseries and preschools with extensive experience in early childhood education. Their core philosophy, known as 'The Nurture Approach,' prioritises both learning and emotional well-being to support children's holistic development.

This approach emphasises individualised care and aims to create a safe, happy, and stimulating environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential. The nurseries focus on providing inspiring learning experiences and fostering the simple joys of childhood.

They are dedicated to supporting families by offering guidance on childcare funding options and ensuring a smooth transition for children through non-chargeable settling-in sessions that can begin up to six weeks before a child's start date. These sessions are designed to help children and parents become familiar with the nursery environment and build trust with their Key Person, making the start of their nursery journey as comfortable as possible.

Our ethos

At Bright Horizons, children are supported at every moment by dedicated, skilled, and caring grown-ups, our nursery practitioners. The Nurture Approach™ is central to life at our Nurseries. It brings together learning and emotional wellbeing as part of the same amazing growing-up journey. We want to make this journey as smooth as possible for the whole family and our team look forward to getting to know their new children. We very much work around the individual needs of your child and your family.

Nursery was good, but had horrible experience with the finance department. They never acknowledged payment properly. Please make sure you get a no-due email from the nursery before you leave. They came back to me after more than a year about some payments that were due, with out any proper explanation. After all the conversations, I decided to pay after they accepting their mistake. It has been 1 month now with no acknowledgement inspite of repeated chasing. Horrible experience, will never recommend them.

I have had one child attend from 1-4 years and now a second who is currently in his last year. I all this is nearly 7 years of child support. Without any experience of other (equivalent) nurseries I have to say that in general the quality is good. My children are happy, fed, make friends, do a variety of activities and do (have) enjoy(ed) their time their. They both talk about the staff very positively. Like all organisations it has had a couple of challenges (the most recent one referred to by a previous reviewer). As much as this is not ideal, this is the real world and the issues dealt with. The reality is these seem to be more of an organisational nature than hands on care. As a parent of children that go to this nursery I am happy with my children going there. More importantly, my child is happy going there - and a safe fun environment is ultimately what matters.
