BrightStart@Thorpes, located in Hull, provides childcare for children aged 0–4 years. 30am until 6pm, Monday to Friday.
The setting received a "Good" rating from Ofsted at its latest inspection on 1st November 2022. The curriculum at BrightStart@Thorpes is designed to challenge children and stimulate their interests, with children showing positive attitudes to their learning and making good progress, gaining skills that help with their eventual transition to school.
Staff are kind and calm, offering emotional comfort and support to children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The nursery works closely with other professionals involved in children's development to ensure good progress for all.
Children benefit from daily exercise in an enclosed outdoor play area, where they learn to take turns, for example, when watering plants. Children who speak English as an additional language are well-supported, with staff learning about families' beliefs and planning activities that promote understanding of different cultures.
The nursery provides a variety of toys and resources that reflect diversity. Parents are highly complimentary of the service and appreciate the regular feedback they receive about their child's day.
