About this day nursery

Busy Bees Day Nursery at Chippenham, established in 2000, offers nurturing childcare for children aged 0-4 years. 30am to 6pm, all year round, the nursery provides a consistent and supportive environment.

The dedicated staff ensure children settle quickly and develop strong relationships, receiving cuddles when needed. The nursery offers a balanced curriculum, using children's interests to plan engaging activities that promote learning, socialisation, and skill development.

Babies play in the ball pit, developing early friendships, while older children improve hand muscles by mixing play dough, preparing them for early writing. Road safety is taught through tricycle play, and imaginative skills are honed on the outdoor obstacle bridge.

The leadership team and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) provide excellent support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), working closely with parents and external agencies for targeted support and smooth transitions. The inclusive approach extends to children who speak English as an additional language (EAL), with staff learning key words to foster a positive view of their uniqueness.

Outdoors, babies explore the garden and splash in water, while older children develop imagination and balancing skills. Staff also encourage a love of books and integrate mathematical language into play, helping children develop a positive attitude towards early maths concepts.

Parents commend the staff for their knowledge and willingness to offer support, such as with potty training.
