Busy Bees Day Nursery at St Albans Glenalmond

Both my daughter and son attended Busy Bees Glenalmond from 10 and 9 months old to 4 and 3 years old - they recently left to go to school. Both have thrived under the great care that all the staff have provided them. I felt fully up to date as to what they were learning and what activities they were doing; the staff were so fun, caring and friendly and the facilities offered great indoor and outdoor play options. I wholeheartedly recommend busy bees Glenalmond and I thank all the staff for giving my children a great start in life. My children miss you all already and my daughter insisted on returning to show the staff her new school uniform- testament to her love of the staff. Thank you.

I would give 10 out of 10 for the day to day experience and quality of staff with the children. The only reason I have dropped to 9 is because the finance side of things is not quite as slick. So that's the minus 1 - why the plus 9? The people! The staff are amazing with the kids, and it feels like a family full of aunties, uncles and older cousins. They listen and pay attention to what is important in the children's and parents lives. They are constantly improving and updating the environment, informing parents of the different topics and learning experiences going on. As a parent you get daily updates, weekly newsletters, monthly photos, and termly developement reviews. How did they handle Covid??? Hygiene and cleanliness has always been a strength but they have been ahead of the curve throughout the varying stages of the pandemic. They were only closed when the government said they had to be, they were open for key workers and have not had to close since. Even on the very rare occasions (1 that I know of) when staff and students have had to isolate, if children were able to attend, BB Glenalmond made sure suitable classrooms and staff were available to care for them. Michelle and Paulina's team are just that - a team! And I am so happy that my girls have had this nursery experience.

One of our kids went here, the staff were excellent. Better value than Home From Home as well. More interesting is the history of the house. Notorious spy Kim Philby was here, as it was an MI6 secret office. There are tunnels going from here to the Fighting Cocks and possibly beyond.

The team provides a safe, fun and loving environment where kids and parents alike can develop and make meaningful friendship. The garden and surrounding wodden area make the nursery a little heaven Thanks for all your great support over the years!

This Mansion House is a WWII S.O.E Base which masterminded operatives parachuting in to occupied europe during the second world war. What makes this site unique against any other base is that this is where the german double agent Kim Thilby who had infiltrated SOE command structure oversaw the failure of 200 + missions and the subsequent capture of personnell whom had just landed. He also went on during the cold war and became known as 'The Third Man'. This building is unique wartime heritage and is an important site in the world today.
