About this day nursery

Butterflies Day Nursery and Childcare, established in 2014, is a family-owned establishment located in Cubbington, Leamington Spa. With a team of experienced and qualified staff, the nursery has built a strong reputation for providing high-quality childcare and early education in a supportive and friendly setting.

Situated on the grounds of Our Lady and St Theresa Primary School, Butterflies Day Nursery benefits from extensive outdoor facilities, including access to a forest school, which allows children to engage in outdoor learning and play. The nursery emphasises "learning through play," recognising its importance in developing a wide range of skills and knowledge through hands-on experiences.

Children are encouraged to socialise, interact, and discover solutions at their own pace, fostering development across all seven areas outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

Our ethos

Learning through play… Play is essential to young children and can produce deep and meaningful learning. Play gives children the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and develop their knowledge through hands on experiences. When children play they learn to socialise and interact with others. Play empowers children to discover their own solutions and enables them to develop at their own pace. Play motivates children and is a powerful vehicle for all seven areas of learning that are outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage. Outdoor Play At Butterflies we believe that the outdoor environment is just as important as the indoor environment and we see it as an ‘outdoor classroom. This is why the children are able to have free flow access to the outdoor area on a daily basis. The Outdoor area supports all areas of learning but it has a big emphasis on physical development (prime area of learning.) Children have the opportunity to run, jump, balance, climb and build dens. These activities keep children fit and healthy and also encourage them to take risks. Playing outside also encourages the children to learn about the natural world by searching for mini beasts, planting and watching things grow and collecting natural objects to explore and investigate. Partnership with Parents The staff at Butterflies Day Nursery pride themselves on having excellent partnership with parents and achieve this in many different ways such as daily verbal communication, regular newsletters, sharing observations, parents’ evenings, stay and play sessions and nursery trips.

Fantastic nursery. Staff are dedicated, kind, and caring. Management is flexible and understanding. Our daughter enjoys going to nursery every day and comes home singing new songs, or happily practicing new values eg. "I am patient". The setting is beautiful and conducive for learning and independent play. No regrets sending our girl here :)

My daughter went to Butterflies for nearly 4 years and she absolutely loved every minute of it! The staff are so caring and kind, the children all form such a tight bond. I’ll always remember picking my daughter up and the whole of the children running saying goodbye to her. It was such a loving environment. The management was also very flexible if we needed more or longer sessions. I whole heartedly recommend this nursery to anyone considering a safe and happy place for their little ones.
