Children are noted to be happy and feel safe, forming close bonds with staff, which is further reinforced by consistent care routines such as nappy changing by the same staff member. This dedicated approach helps children feel secure and comfortable, often seeking reassurance and comfort from familiar blankets and staff.
The curriculum encourages physical activity both indoors and outdoors, with opportunities for children to develop balance and coordination, and to engage in problem-solving activities. Children are supported in making their own decisions and managing risks in their play, such as climbing a wooden ramp after assessing its safety.
This nurturing environment also supports children who speak English as an additional language, with staff engaging them in interactive games to promote their language development. The day nursery focuses on holistic development, preparing children for their next stage of learning by facilitating visits to new rooms and introductions to new staff members.
Staff work closely with parents, sharing information about children's learning experiences and offering resources to support development at home, including borrowing books and items to aid with sleep routines. Healthy eating is promoted through a variety of snacks, including foods from around the world, adapting to children's dietary requirements to encourage good health.
The manager effectively supports staff well-being, fostering a positive team environment that contributes to the high quality of care.
