Buttons Kindergarten, established in 2015, provides childcare for children aged 2 to 4 years old. Open Monday to Friday, all year round, with sessions from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, the setting received a 'Good' rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 9th June 2023.

Children arrive excited and are supported by staff to develop strong bonds. The curriculum, recently updated by the manager, ensures children remain highly engaged and eager to learn.

They develop extensive physical skills through activities such as yoga and are encouraged to develop independence, choosing their own boots and waterproof suits. '.

Children also learn manners through play, consistently using 'please' and 'thank you'. The setting provides for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), and staff work together to plan support.

Outdoor learning is a key feature, with children knowing to line up and remove sand from their boots before entering inside, demonstrating clear boundaries and routines. Parents have expressed feeling fully supported and praise the staff's care and attention to individual children.

Children line up without prompting ready to go inside from the garden. They all take their boots off and bang them on the floor to remove the sand before they enter the room. Staff encourage children to ask for things at the outdoor vegetable shop using full sentences.
