How they support every child

SEND provision

Leaders and staff work hard to identify children who may need additional support. They engage with parents effectively, providing them with support to access additional services to benefit their children's development. Leaders are clear about the strategies that they want staff to use to support children, including supporting children with positive behaviour. However, sometimes, these strategies are not consistently implemented by staff.

We couldn't be more grateful that Canopy Potters Bar opened when it did. We spent hours visiting a number of nurseries in the area and were lucky enough to stumble upon Canopy. As first time parents, we weren't sure what to expect when it came round to sending our little boy to nursery, but Angie and the team put our minds at ease, the moment we walked through the door. We were welcomed into a calm and happy environment and we were met with nothing but smiles from both the children and the staff, during our initial visit. It was a no-brainer! We were also pleasantly surprised when we were told, that Angie would pop round to see our little one in his own environment and to answer any questions we had, before he started and to really get to know his personality. It gave us peace of mind that he was going to be in safe hands. Fast forward nearly 6 months and we are delighted with the experience both our little boy and ourselves have had here. Andriana, Tatiana and Shreya have formed such an incredible bond with our little one and we have seen him thrive in his current room. We've seen first hand how nurturing the Canopy environment is and how much the staff really care about the little ones and their development. I couldn't recommend the the team at Canopy enough.

I recently delivered a Dental talk for the children at Canopy Potters Bar and I was genuinely impressed. It was very clear the team at Canopy genuinely care about the children, not just in terms of day-to-day care but in their wider development, confidence and early education too. The atmosphere in the setting felt positive, nurturing and child-focused. Everything you would hope for from an early years environment! Thank you to the team for having me. You set a great example with your high standards and genuine commitment to shaping the next generation! I look forward to returning next year!

A fantastic nursery for little ones to grow and explore with confidence. Since starting our little one here, all the staff and management team have been attentive to our needs whilst maintaining a high level of care. It has a great community feel where children are exposed to embracing the wider community that the nursery continues to build relationships with. It is a very open and diverse place for my little one to grow, explore and respect the environment in which she is developing. Thank you Canopy!

I cannot speak highly enough of Canopy Potters Bar Nursery! From the moment we first visited, we felt an incredible sense of warmth, care, and professionalism from all the staff. The environment is bright, safe, and full of engaging activities that truly nurture each child’s curiosity and confidence. The teachers are absolutely wonderful — patient, attentive, and genuinely passionate about helping every child grow. My child settled in so quickly thanks to their kind and supportive approach, and every day they come home excited to share what they’ve learned and the fun they’ve had with their friends. Communication with parents is excellent too. We always feel informed about our child’s progress, daily activities, and any little milestones they achieve. The staff clearly take the time to get to know each child and family, which makes such a difference. Thankyou so much to Canopy Potters Bar
