Where do I begin? From the very first time I set foot in Castle Day, I was captivated by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. I immediately knew this was the setting I wanted my children to grow in and it certainly did not disappoint. Both of my children thoroughly enjoyed their time there as they felt safe and excited to attend each day. They even insisted on going in on days when they were unwell; which truly says it all. The nursery provides a fantastic learning environment with a wonderful balance of play, structure and care. Being based in a large hall means the children have plenty of space to run, play and release their energy regardless of the weather, which I feel is something parents do not always factor in when choosing a nursery. During nicer weather, the outdoor space is also well used, giving children even more opportunities to explore and play. We have seen such wonderful progress in our children’s confidence, communication skills, and independence since starting here. The activities are creative, engaging and designed to support early learning and social development. The teachers are absolutely wonderful. From drop-off to pick-up, you can genuinely feel the care, warmth and dedication they have for the children. They are all fully engaged and know each child so well (their personality, needs and interests); which creates a strong sense of trust and reassurance as a parent to know our child is in such capable and loving hands. . Communication is excellent as we are always kept informed about daily activities, progress and any milestones. It’s clear that the staff truly value each child as an individual. In my opinion, Castle Day Nursery is not just a nursery or preschool — it is a family. It is a place where children feel welcomed, supported and nurtured while learning and developing important life skills. As parents, this is exactly what we want for our children and I would highly recommend Castle Day to any family looking for a caring, enriching, nurturing, supportive and stimulating early years setting. Castle Day has been the most wonderful nursery we could wish for. 3 of my children have attended the nursery and I have nothing but amazing praise for the teachers and the school. Castle day provides such a loving and friendly and very close community nursery environment and all the children are very happy and the excited to go to nursery. Castle Day set up fun and engaging activities and the teachers have all been there for a long time. They all actually care and love the children and make them so feel settled and pleased to go to nursery. I will be very sad to say goodbye to the nursery after 7 years this summer.

My child went to Castle Day Nursery part time from age 2 until moving onto a primary school. What a brilliant experience for a little person to start learning how to make their way in the world, and for me, what a bonus to be part of that wonderful little community. Honestly, although I felt it would be good for my child at the time, I was worried about them not being at home with me and how the same attentive loving care could be provided in a group setting. I had nothing to worry about. The team had such huge capacity for care, for noticing the tiny details, and offering a kind and welcoming environment for my little one to thrive in. Importantly I loved watching how they cared for each other as a team too - and how that would have been modelled to the children - and for how that care extended to parents and families. That team held a lot and it never affected how they treated anyone who walked through the door. The team handled difficult situations really well, dealing with parents and children who perhaps had a longer way to go to understand what they were being offered and supported with, the duty of care that all of the team carried so well. But most importantly, my child loved it. Lovely people, lovely memories.

Four of my children and my niece have attended this nursery. Each one of them has thoroughly enjoyed it and have never once said that they don't want to go to nursery. Those who have finished nursery have always gone on to primary school with a solid foundation in reading, writing, communication, physical education, social interaction and confidence. They are such a wonderful bunch here, the teachers & support staff are so friendly, caring and truly wish for the best for your children. They give wonderful advice, spend time talking to you if you want and are very accommodating to changing circumstances. Honestly could not have found a better place for my kids. Thank you all your hard work!

Both my girls went to Castle day Nursery.I had a great experience with the nursery for my first born..she loved it there and I was very happy too.🥰 And based on my excellent experience with my first, I put my younger one at Castle Day too..regret it till date (she left Castle Day & joined reception 3 years ago).The lady who runs the nursery (not the manager, but the owner I’m referring to), is stern, rude and loud.I would never want any child to be around her tbh..my younger one cried every time she saw the owner. My daughter was delayed in her speech and few other milestones like toilet training mainly due to COVID lockdown.She missed out on months of being at nursery during that period.She went back for a few months only after lockdown was lifted, but the owner made it a point to brand my child as being slow, exceptionally behind in speech & comprehension (which wasn’t entirely true), taking videos of my child in the nursery setting and then sharing with me later as proof to show how my daughter wasn’t taking instructions from the staff/ falling in line. The Owner made me book multiple appointments with a speech therapist mentioning that my daughter needed help as severely delayed in her speech & comprehension (which I again reiterate, wasn’t true).I met the therapist 2-3 times (including once accompanied with the nursery owner) and was reassured every time that my daughter was a bit behind in her speech but was making good progress + that being confined at home during the lockdown & lack of social interaction could have been the reason for the slight delay. However, the nursery’s owner would time and again call me in for meetings and make it a point to communicate that my daughter was slow and needed professional help.She even made references a few times that my daughter might be on the spectrum and that we must get her checked. At that point, as a parent I was going through so much anxiety and stress, not once did it occur to me that I should be getting my daughter out of that nursery.Moreover, in the midst of the multiple Covid lockdowns, I thought it would be difficult to find an appropriate alternative nursery for her. At the end of nursery, when it was time for my daughter to enter reception, the notes handed over to the school from the nursery mentioned all this and my daughter was termed as a special needs child. The time my child was at Castle Day is traumatic and will always be etched in my mind as being a horrible phase for my daughter and the family (with regards to our association with the nursery). My daughter started reception as a special needs child and within a week was well settled, her speech progressed by big leaps..all in all, everything fell in place and the school was baffled as to how she could have been put under special needs by her nursery in the first place! My child now studies at an Outstanding school and starts year 3 this September..she’s one of the brightest in her class (even though a summer born) and has received a wonderful report card for all the great work she’s done..we are very proud of her! It’s taken me this long to pen my thoughts and write a review due to the immense stress and worry I’ve been through.But as they say, better late than never! I would never want any other parent to experience what we as a family had to go through due to the nursery and their incompetence in dealing with children. Children are like peas in a pod..a few will be different from the rest!I do hope the nursery understands this sooner than later!
