For children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, an experienced SENCO prepares personalised support plans, ensuring all children make good progress from their individual starting points.

Children are highly motivated and engaged, particularly during imaginative role-play activities and outdoor exploration, where staff actively participate to support their ideas. The nursery promotes a love of stories and books, with staff passionately reading and encouraging children's opinions and participation.

They also effectively support children's personal, social, and emotional development by encouraging discussions about emotions and fostering sharing and turn-taking during mealtimes. A healthy lifestyle is promoted through physical activities and healthy eating practices, with children enjoying fruit snacks and homemade lunches.

Partnerships with parents are strong, with effective communication channels and positive feedback on the care provided. Castledyke Ltd was rated "Good" in its overall effectiveness by Ofsted, with "Good" ratings in the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.

How they support every child

SEND provision

The experienced special educational needs coordinator prepares personalised plans of support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. This helps all children make good progress from their starting points.

Outdoor space

Outside, children build a house to protect themselves from the big bad wolf. Staff are animated as they join in with children's imaginative games. Staff provide children with lots of opportunities to be physically active to develop their muscle strength. Babies are encouraged to climb the steps of the slide, while toddlers ride the scooters and jump off the wooden logs and pre-school children practise their yoga moves.
