We recently moved to Oldham and, like many parents, we were looking for a nursery for our little one. I contacted numerous nurseries listed on the Oldham Council website, but unfortunately, none had any available spaces. They all added us to their waiting lists for the September intake, with no guarantees of securing a place. My wife and I were starting to lose hope when, by chance, I came across Channings Childcare in Werneth. I called immediately, and Ellie informed me that they had a spot available, and my child could start in January 2025. We were overjoyed! However, after reading some online reviews, one in particular stood out. A parent seemed quite upset, which naturally made us a little anxious. I asked Ellie about it, as we believe there are always two sides to every story. Our little one started at Channings with no knowledge of English, but in 2 months we've already seen amazing progress. He is now more confident in speaking English and making friends, which has been so encouraging. Miss Martina, Ellie, and all the staff are incredibly friendly and dedicated to providing excellent care. The only downside is that they currently operate for only three days a week, which is a bit disappointing. We hope that in the future, they’ll be able to extend to five days a week again. Overall, we truly believe Channings Childcare is one of the best nurseries in Manchester, and we’re so grateful for the wonderful environment they provide for our child.
Read on Google🚫 AVOID 🚫 I am extremely disappointed with this nursery and feel compelled to share my experience to warn other parents. My two-year-old daughter was treated in a way that I find completely unacceptable by some of the staff. They used threats like "we're going to call the police" 🚨 to control her behavior, which left her absolutely terrified 😨. This type of approach is not only inappropriate but has caused long-lasting fear in my child. Despite all our efforts, she is now too scared to attend any school or nursery due to the trauma she experienced here 😔. No parent should have to see their child suffer this kind of distress 💔. The nursery’s approach to handling young children is not only lacking in compassion but borders on harmful 🚫. I would not recommend this place to anyone who values a nurturing, safe environment for their little ones.
Read on GoogleChannings childcare is a very nice environment to send your children too. As my children have also attended another leading Oldham private nursery i would say that Channings is by far the best. They do not attempt to add up there own prices and are considerate and quite flexible if you need them to be. They have a clean environment and good facilities and the staff here are very welcoming and pleasant. One big plus is THEY DO NOT CHARGE FOR BANK HOLIDAYS (UNLIKE OTHER NURSERY'S). If you can get your child in here do so as it is a very nice place to send your child! :-)
