Chawton Pre-School operates as a charitable organisation, managed by a voluntary committee, providing early years education for 38 weeks annually. The pre-school is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and on Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
They are dedicated to fostering a warm, secure, and nurturing environment where children can thrive, encouraging them to be enthusiastic about learning and depart feeling content and stimulated. The curriculum values each child as a unique individual, building strong connections with both the children and their families to support comprehensive development.
The pre-school is committed to offering high-quality care and education to children primarily below statutory school age, working in collaboration with parents, contributing positively to the local community, and promoting equality and diversity. They provide a high adult-to-child ratio to ensure personalised care and attention, facilitating learning by building upon each child's existing knowledge.
A personal key person system, reinforced by a co-key person, ensures continuous monitoring of progress, regular communication with parents, and consistent support for each child's learning and development, preparing them for future education and life.
Our ethos
We take immense pride in creating a warm, safe and caring environment where children love to be. They arrive at school full of beans, go home happy and stimulated, looking forward to the next day. We treat each child as unique individuals, build strong relationships with them and their families and help them grow in all areas of their development. We value each child and put them at the centre of whatever we do. We enjoy seeing our children grow and make progress while they are with us, and this is celebrated. We believe that a firm basis of co-operation, communication and interaction between adults and the children is essential. Our aims: - Provide high quality care and education for children primarily below statutory school age. - Work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop. - Add to the life and well-being of the local community. - Offer children and their parents a service which promotes equality and values diversity.
