Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), make good progress. Children with SEND have good support from staff and individualised learning plans, which help to close gaps in children's learning. Staff build strong links with external professionals involved in children's care, supporting high levels of continuity for children's care and learning.

Outdoor space

Staff focus on what they know about children to create a variety of activities and experiences, both inside and outside. For example, during a forest school session children are using sticks to build as they follow their interest in construction. Children confidently use sand timers to share favourite resources, such as bikes in the garden.

Our children have both had an absolutely wonderful experience at Cherish - we've had one or both of them there for the last 7+ years, and our youngest has just finished to go to reception. The staff are dedicated and caring - we've had brilliant support throughout our time there, they genuinely love the children (which is totally reciprocated) and this is evident both at nursery, at events and when we bump into them on the street. Turnover is also low - many of the staff who were there when we started are still there now. The nursery is very diverse, and a highlight has been the annual culture day when staff, children and parents are encouraged to dress up bring in food to share and celebrate the different cultures at the nursery. There are also plenty of other events and opportunities for parents to come in and socialise, which has built a great community - the children (and parents) have friends for life. The nursery has great outdoor space, particularly the grassy 'big garden' and our two also loved forest school at a local green space (and a local allotment visit recently!) Cherish has ensured our children were confident, independent and totally ready for starting school. We are sad to be leaving them behind, and look forward to keeping in touch with the staff and the many friends we and the children have made there.

An excellent organisation dedicated entirely to caring for children and ensuring they spend their pre-school years in a wonderful place. The staff ensure the children spend their days in a very caring, safe, inspiring, fun, inclusive and exciting place. This is the third time I have sent one of my children to a day nursery for a long period and I can safely say this is the best I have ever experienced. Top marks.
