Cherrywood Nursery, established in 2010 and located in Pirbright, Woking, provides a welcoming and nurturing environment for children aged 0-4 years. 30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, for 51 weeks of the year, it offers all-year-round childcare.

The nursery was rated 'Good' by Ofsted following its inspection on 7th July 2021. Children develop secure bonds with the dedicated staff and build close friendships with their peers.

Strong partnerships with parents are a key feature, with excellent communication, including via an online application, ensuring individual care and attention. Parents consistently praise the support and consistent care offered by the staff.

Children are very well-behaved, learning positive attitudes and key skills that prepare them for their transition to school. Older children are encouraged to listen politely during conversations, while pre-schoolers build confidence by practising writing their names and dressing in school uniforms.

The nursery places a strong emphasis on good hygiene, with staff encouraging regular handwashing through songs. Children also have opportunities for outdoor learning, with older children challenging their physical skills on two-wheeled toys and younger children observing insects with magnifying glasses.

While the outdoor area is regularly used, its organisation during periods when it is divided for different age groups has been noted for review to ensure all children have equal access to physical and exploratory play. The staff team is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about child development, planning engaging experiences to support children's progress.

Communication skills and speech are well-supported across all age groups through close interaction and encouraging conversations and songs.

Outdoor space

Children have regular opportunities to play outside and benefit from the fresh air. Older children challenge their physical skills on two-wheeled toys and younger children watch insects through magnifying glasses with fascination. However, the organisation of the outdoor area has not been considered fully when it is divided for children's use during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, to ensure all children have equal access to physical and exploratory play.

Came to visit the nursery and instantly felt happy. The girls who work there are lovely, kind and knowledgable. I knew I’d be happy to leave my baby with them and she would be looked after, happy and flourish under their care. When Looking around the nursery every single child was engaged in a activity and learning for their level. Being a first time mum and arranging child care can brings up mixed emotions, but all the staff at Cherry wood made its so much easier. Thank you and can’t wait for my daughter to start next year.

A fantastic nursery, I've felt very reassured and confident that my little boy would be safe and well looked after from my first visit. The staff are amazing and I love seeing the pictures and videos throughout the day on the app of him having lots of fun. Can't recommend them enough!

It turns out cherrywood are a super shady business, accepted a deposit for our child to have a place, three months later we received a letter saying that they couldn’t accommodate. We loved the team in the nursery but cannot recommend a business who behaves in this manner about something so important. I note an appreciate your swift response but would highlight that Cherrywood couldn’t even be bothered to call us to discuss the issue, that our child is not due in nursery for a year and that cherrywood have accepted a deposit from us, presumably they have earned interest on that deposit which would suggest fraudulent behaviour. Can we expect to recover our deposit plus a suitable payment to cover the disruption they have caused….I very much doubt it. Stay well clear
