Cherubs and Imps Day Nursery, established in 2012, operates Monday to Friday, all year round, from 7:30am to 6pm, providing a welcoming and friendly environment for children aged 0-4 years. The nursery received a "Good" rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on May 16, 2024.
Leaders and staff foster a confident and relaxed atmosphere where babies delight in familiar songs and toddlers engage happily in large outdoor spaces. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to be ambitious for all children, with a strong emphasis on social skills and preparing them for their next steps, including school readiness.
Children are encouraged to express their wishes and needs, fostering their confidence and independence; for example, at lunchtime, they have the opportunity to move furniture to eat in the greenhouse outside. The nursery also places a significant focus on developing a love for stories and rhymes, supporting early reading skills through engaging activities.
Staff effectively support communication and language development, generating discussions and encouraging children to explore concepts creatively, such as imagining a volcano. The nursery actively engages with the local community, recently participating in a gardening competition and creating a poppy wreath for Remembrance Day, which helps children understand their local community and the wider world.
Parents consistently report strong partnerships with the nursery, noting their children are happy, settled, and eager for nursery sessions, appreciating the communication regarding their child's progress.

Inclusion & environment
Children play happily with their friends in the large outdoor spaces. They use funnels, spray bottles and pipes cooperatively in the water tray, and concentrate hard as they connect the pipes together and pour the water down them. At lunchtime, children ask if they can have their lunch in the greenhouse outside and confidently move furniture to eat there.
