Clifton Day Nursery provides childcare for children from 0-4 years old, operating Monday to Friday, all year round. Sessions are from 8am to 6pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with an earlier start at 7:30am on Tuesday and Thursday.
Established in 2004, the nursery prides itself on fostering warm relationships between staff and children in a small, friendly setting, prioritising their well-being. The nursery supports children's home cultures and languages through resources like dual-language books and celebrates diverse traditions with families.
Children enjoy outings to the local library and community, which helps them learn about the world and develop a love for reading. Staff work closely with parents and other professionals to meet the individual needs of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), and discussed their approaches with the Ofsted inspector.
The curriculum is ambitious, with a strong focus on communication and language development, and early mathematics. A key highlight is the nursery's commitment to physical development, offering numerous opportunities for children to strengthen their muscles, balance, and coordination through activities like pedalling, running, and balancing outdoors.

My daughter has attended Clifton Day Nursery since she was 9 months old and she has thrived in the small caring nursery. We often comment that it is like her second home and she is so happy and content there. There is a real sense of love and care and the team strive to help the children play and learn. The large secure garden is brilliant and messy, natural play is positively encouraged. The early years foundation is covered effectively but this is balanced well with time to play and be a child. If you want a small and relaxed environment for your child to grow into a happy and confident person then this is the place.
Read on GoogleOur daughter was very happy at Clifton Day Nursery. Her confidence and social interaction abilities improved massively while she was there and I think it provided an excellent foundation for her step up to primary school. The staff are great and I would highly recommend the place.
Read on GoogleMy little man started going to the nursery at 2 years old for 2 morning a week. He loves it so much and his speech and ability to share came on in leaps and bounds, so after a few months we increased it to 3 mornings. He always eats the food there and is never dirty when I pick him up. I'm sure if it would be up to him he would spend the whole day there. The staff are really friendly and keep us updated on his progress.
Read on Googlemy children went here, lovely family run nursery the owner and the manager do a fantastic job. Thank you for taking care of my sons and making them smile each day.
