Initially transforming farm buildings into welcoming learning spaces, including a barn for the main nursery and a former milking parlour for babies, Coneygarth has steadily expanded while preserving its core values. The nursery offers two contract options: Contract A includes all meals and snacks, while Contract B is a term-time funded contract where meals can be purchased separately. Fees are billed monthly in advance. Discounts are available for siblings and full-time attendance.

  • Nursery leaders value the different skills of the staff team and provide regular supervision and professional development opportunities.
  • Leaders target additional funding to enhance children's learning and care needs, working closely with parents and professionals to support children, including those with SEND.
  • Children are engrossed as staff read their favourite stories, fostering a love of reading with an excellent range of books available.
  • Children learn about people and places in the local community through regular walks and visits to village shops, the library, and a nearby care home.
  • Children learn, at first-hand, about caring for animals on the nursery farm, discovering different animal foods and observing hens laying eggs.

How they support every child

SEND provision

All staff work closely with parents and other professionals to ensure that children get the right support to achieve their curriculum goals. This includes children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff spoke to the inspector about how they support children with SEND.

Outdoor space

The indoor and outdoor environments are superb and offer rich opportunities, especially for children's physical development. The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this is having on the children's learning.
