About this day nursery

Cotswold Montessori Preschools offer a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 2-5 years, operating flexibly from 8 am to 5 pm year-round. They embrace the Montessori Method, a philosophy centred on fostering independence, concentration, respect, and self-esteem in children.

The approach emphasises helping children develop self-belief and confidence to become productive members of their communities, enabling them to think critically, make sound choices, treat others and their environment with kindness, and find joy in their learning. The preschools aim to create a space where children enjoy their educational journey.

They have two conveniently located settings in the picturesque Cotswolds: one in Great Barrington, near Burford, and another in Guiting Power, near Winchcombe. While the Great Barrington location boasts a forest school on-site, the Guiting Power branch is situated in a charming old Victorian school building with expansive outdoor space.

The nursery is committed to making childcare accessible by assisting parents with the complexities of government funding schemes, ensuring families can navigate their options effectively.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, or who are learning English as an additional language make fantastic progress. Staff focus on communication to help all children express their views and join in. They use signs as well as words, and home languages to make sure that children feel valued and included.

Outdoor space

Outdoors, children are eager to play with others. They recall digging for worms and where the best place is to find them. When they find the worms, older children remind younger ones to use gentle hands.

I couldn’t have dreamed of a better start to my children's education. The teachers are nurturing and kind, the setting is beautiful and the selection of work available to the children is second to none. This is a truly outstanding Montessori Preschool.
