Cumberland Road Nursery and Preschool, located in Plaistow, London, provides exceptional childcare for children aged 1 to 4 years. Open all year round, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, excluding bank holidays and one week over Christmas and New Year, the nursery operates as a childcare on non-domestic premises setting.

The dedicated staff ensure children are extremely happy and thrive in a highly effective and inspiring environment, as highlighted in their "Outstanding" Ofsted rating from May 2023. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to promote independence and physical development, with activities that enhance both fine and gross motor skills.

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive excellent support to ensure they make significant progress. The highly knowledgeable special educational needs coordinator works in close collaboration with parents and local authority inclusion teams to create bespoke support plans.

The nursery fosters a sense of community, with managers supporting staff in organising extra-curricular activities, including visits to local care home residents for celebratory events and visits to the local food bank to donate food.

How they support every child

SEND provision

All children, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), make excellent progress from their starting points. Children with SEND and any other additional needs have excellent support to meet their needs and help them to make good progress. The extremely knowledgeable special educational needs coordinator works closely with parents, the local authority inclusion team and other professionals to implement bespoke support plans. This promotes children's good progress and reduces gaps in learning.

The Cumberland Road nursery is a great place for kids to start their day care experience. My son completed his settling in period and we are really happy with the great care, attention and love the staff and teachers gave to him. Im so relieved that he's been given a home like environment and the nursery's attention to nutrition, cleanliness and milestones is exemplary. Really satisfying.

Fantastic school and teachers. Teachers care a lot about the kids and they give their soul every day. Big thanks to every teacher and the leadership team. Special thanks and appreciation to Shaola, Fatima, Nur and chef Iliana! Both of our kids went at this school at the same time and we were very pleased during all school stages. There is good structure, lots of learnings sessions and a well designed curriculum for the kids to develop the skills in each stage. Thank you all for everything! We will miss you. I adore this nursery. My daughter loves going, she's learned and developed a lot in the toddler room. The activities they get up to feels like a mix of learning approaches which i appreciate as feels like she is getting the best of everything. The staff are the friendliest and kindest. It was by far the the best nursery i visited before deciding.

We love this nursery and our son does too. He has learnt so much since being there and the teachers are so kind. I feel he is safe, having fun, making friends whilst learning too. Couldn't be happier! Thank you for all of your hard work.

My baby girl loves this nursery and so do I! Her growth over the past couple of months in this nursery has been phenomenal, they take such good care of our babies and you feel like each teacher/minder has a personal relationship with you and your baby. They manage your babies wellbeing and supplies using a very hand app which is a huge plus. I must say - leaving my baby at nursery was hard initially but LEYF made the process easy for me.
