For example, children enjoy dramatic play in a pretend butterfly café, practising conversation and mathematical skills by taking orders, handling pretend money, and measuring items.
Children also benefit from learning the language of feelings, which helps them develop emotional literacy, leading to respectful behaviour and a happy experience within the setting. The nursery promotes children's understanding of equality and diversity in an age-appropriate way, helping them reflect on their differences and what makes them unique.
Children benefit from a broad curriculum, which they show interest in. Staff enhance communication and language skills, using songs during daily routines and encouraging children to name body parts.
The setting makes good use of additional funding to address individual needs, enhancing physical skills and knowledge of the world. Young children regularly visit the local playing field, learning road safety, understanding directions, identifying environmental sounds, and engaging in physical activities like rolling and kicking balls, jumping, hopping, and running.
