Inclusion & environment
Staff work well with other professionals to help support children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities, and those who receive funding. Resources to help support children's learning are carefully chosen to develop their existing skills and challenge them further. Staff help children catch up, working closely with other professionals, such as speech and language specialists to provide targeted support.
Children have lots of opportunities to play outside. The manager and staff have made the most out of the space available to encourage children to develop a range of skills, including balancing, measuring and using different materials such as sand and plastic dinosaurs imaginatively.
Terrible management and communication. Said they had availability for January in September so signed my son up and confirmed dates/times, manager said he’d be added to famly. Hadn’t heard anything by Decembe, only to find out from another staff member (manager wasn’t in) that he wasn’t on the list. I asked if he’d still be ok to start in January and got ignored. Called the manager and she had seen my emails but never responded? Said the staff member had looked at the wrong list and he was on it but there was no longer space for him as students that were leaving were now staying. Why would you give someone a space if it’s not guaranteed and not have the decency to call and let me know the situation. Completely unprofessional, unorganised, making things up as she goes along
Read on GoogleMy son has been going to this nursery since he was 10 months old, he is now 3.5 years old. It’s a massive ordeal for any working parent to trust an establishment with their child and the team here were so welcoming and kind. My son loves it at Dolly and Bear. The team have equally been responsible for growing and nurturing him into the confident little man he is becoming. More recently, they have been working hard to help educate him around the transition to primary school, and how to manage his emotions. He is talking about school more positively. The staff provide updates and share detailed weekly observations. They are so friendly, and passionate about Early Years - led by an incredible nursery manger. Would recommend 100% to anyone looking for a trusted nursery for their little one.
Read on GoogleWorst management ever! When they don’t take care of your child and you try to talk and find solutions, she just simply crossed her arms and said “ if you are not happy, you can take your child to another setting” And that’s what I did! Even when I sent them email to terminate the contract, they never replied or confirmed. It is how unprofessional they are. Quit with no regret at all and my child is wayyyyy happier and healthier in another setting. Horrible nursery! Edit: hi owner, I don’t even feel comfortable to contact the nursery manager anymore as they were incredibly rude to me! They even never responded to my email when I withdrew my child from the setting. If you would leave your email, I’m happy to email you all the information.
Read on GoogleMy two babies have thrived in this nursery! They are always happy to go in, the staff and care is just amazing! The nursery is very supportive of personal situations and the manager is fantastic, both my boys adore her :-) They go on trips all the time, spend time outdoors and love their days at nursery. Highly recommend!
Read on GoogleDolly and Bear is the BEST! We recently moved to the area and viewed 5 nursery’s in Thorpe Bay and Southend. We thought we would never find a place we would feel happy to send our little boy to. But then we found Dolly & Bear! The staff are incredible, so caring, fun & everything else in between. Massive shout out to Charlotte (manager) & our little boys favourite person Viktoria.
